Laptop MotherBoard Reverse Circuit Problem

    Hi..I have a dell vostro 1500 laptop recently my laptop is behaving in a different manner.
    When i connect the adapter plug to laptop the light is getting automatically off in the adapter.When i contacted the dell peoplethey said its some reverse short circuit problem.
    Shall i have to replace the entire mother board for this or there any altenative for it.Please post if there is any alternative.I stay in Hyderabad

    I think dell is right about it being a short.

    If it was my notebook I would disasemble it, then check for any obvious problems.

    then put it back together and hope that after you have re-seated everything, it works.

    Most likely you would need a new motherboard, but re-seating could help.

    Any Other Alternative...Laptop reassembling is a major task for me..as i dont know how to do it...:)

    It sounds like something on the motherboard blew out. I think you are going to need to get the motherboard replaced as per Dell's suggestion.

    Cant there be a replacement of a single part for this instead of replacing the entire mother board.Any one know how much the motherboard costs...??
