Does anybody know of a laptop cooler that elegantly fits both the E6400 and the E-dock docking station? I'm trying to do whatever I can to avoid the fan blowing at full speed when being docked with two monitors. The noise just drives me crazy!

So far I've undervolted the CPU to 1V (T9600), I've had my mobo, CPU, heatsink and fan replaced. The result is that the fan is indeed less frequent running at full speed but not nearly enough to my liking.

My E6400 was overheating (not the same problem, but related) even after Dell replaced motherboard and heatsink. I insisted and they ended up giving me a brand new E6400 (not refurbished), which is noticeably cooler and the fan is now mostly off except under load. I use it docked with one external screen.

I recommend you call Dell and insist. The price premium you paid includes the great Dell business support, make use of it :)
