    Hi All,

After reading posts on this forum, I decided to upgarde my Dell Vostro 1700 CPU to the Intel T9500. My bios was upgarded to A07 and I recently upgraded to Windows 7 - 64 bit.

After installing the T9500, I have a keyboard issue. Only the middle (asdf), bottom (zxcv) and number rows are working. The qwer row, the shift key and the return key are not working.

I had a wireless keyboard so I plugged that in....same problem. Does any know if there is a setting or incompatibility between the T9500 and the Vostro 1700? I thought I had read that others had done this upgrade with success.

Hi again....I just won't let this die. After lots of trial and error, I tried a logitech wireless keyboard that I was not using...YES! it worked!

When I plugged in the USB for the wireless logitech, a new driver was innstalled and all of my keyboard functions came back (as evidenced by this e-mail which is being typed on the Vostro) (not sure why the microsoft wireless keyboard did not work).

So the native laptop keyboard needs a new driver....my question now changes to: how can I find the correct driver to run the keyboard on a dell Vostro 1700 (a 5 or 6 year old laptop) with an Intel core 2 duo t9500 CPU?

    Any/all help greatly appreciated.

    Signed,
    With keys, albeit wireless...

I would try reseating the Vostro 1700 keyboard.
