    Hi, I have both E6400 and M4400.

I don't like the keyboard on E6400 while I like the keyboard on M4400.

Two keyboards look exactly the same. Are they different keyboards?

I do believe that the E6400, E6500, M2400, and M4400 all share the same keyboard. I'm nearly nearly certain this is the case, but someone correct me if I'm wrong. That being said, your two keyboards should feel the same... unless one is backlit and the other isn't? I've heard that the backlit keyboard and the regular keyboard both have different "feel" to them...

My original M65 keyboard was not very nice ,but the replacement keyboard I got after my cat had ripped off key's and their attachment's,was much better, whether it was a later version from a different manufacturer,I can't remember......but the two were like chalk and cheese.

    They're both non-backlit keyboards.

I don't know if this is because of whatever component under the keyboard or the keyboard itself.

Try swapping the boards... then you'll know if they're compatible AND whether your problem lies with the boards or the machines. Two birds with one stone :D

Yeah, it seems I will eventually have to do it.

    Thanks for the help.
