I am probably going to university soon to study engineering and will then be having solid works classes. I am looking into getting a m3800 but the gpu looks weak to me (and the price outrageous). (coming from an Alienware 6970m)

How good is it for games?
Does it cope well with the m3800's QHD+ screen?
How does it compare to the k2000m?
On notebookcheck's gpu comparison list it is much weaker than a 750m, is it really like that in real life?

    Thanks for your input.

    A. it is not a gaming card but a little weaker than the 750 ( the k2000m is the 750 level )
    B. very well as pro cards are actually better suited for higher resolutions ( assuming enough RAM for frame buffers )
    C. it is a little slower than the k2000m and K2100m
    D. I would guess in gaming it is about a 740 level. however in MAYA, Solidworks and many other pro apps it will slaughter a 780m ( even a pair in SLI ). its a case of designed for different uses and Gforce cards very heavily neutered in OpenCL, OpenGL and FP64

Maybe look at an M4700 or M4800 with a bigger card if you want to game more?

My mom has a m4400 that weighs 2.6kg and I already consider it too heavy for a 15". The m4700 is 2.8kg and the m4800 whooping 3.2kg. With those weights I'd rather get a 17" again.
    Thanks for the info.
