I just noticed a problem yesterday where when I am typing my cursor jumps somewhere and i start typing where the new cursor location is.

Does anyone experience this problem? I did a quick search but found nothing on this.

Make sure TouchCheck is enabled on the touchpad settings (bottom option on the Alps touchpad control) and, if is already enabled, try adjusting the setting.

It is designed to stop the pad from sensing palm proximity during typing as intended touchpad action.

yes, this is a possible cause. it did it to me. was so friggin annoying. i had turned it off because it caused my touchpad to be a bit laggy, but completely off it was causing me problems like what you're having. i adjusted the slider and now its all good :)

I've got the touch check on about halfway. What settings do you guys use?

yep halfway too. are you using the latest dell software? did you try turning it up and see if it works? also the suggestion about snap to, did you check that?

when the thing jumps, is your palm anywhere near the touchpad?

Mine is half way, but try changing that setting and see if it has any effect on your problem. Our typing action may be different.
