Other than a slight/low electrical noise that comes from the keyboard (intermittent), it works beautifully.

    Specs:

    OS; Windows7 Pro
    Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo P9600 @ 2.66GHz
    HD: 256 SSD
    RAM: 4GB
    CD-ROM
    Display: 144x900
    Backlit Keyboard

    Software:

    Office 2010 Pro
    Symantec Corporate Edition

Relatively new battery; lasts about 2:30-3hrs.

    Thank you for your input!

Maybe $100 at most on ebay. Here, I doubt anyone would care about a 2009 laptop.

It's the type of computer which might be good for family or friend who isn't very demanding of their computing needs.

If it's in good shape, I agree with John -- it's much better as a gift or a personal spare than it's going to be sold. Also would be much quicker with 8gb of RAM than as it is.

I just repasted an E6400 and put in a 512GB SSD and clean installed Windows 10. The result is a very usable light-use system.

The problem with those laptops isn't that the CPU isn't powerful enough, or that you can't upgrade it to a SSD. Neither is the case.

The problem is the 4gb of RAM, and the extreme cost of 4gb DDR2 SODIMMs. By the time you spend $100-$120 on them, you're half-way to an E6430 or E6440 that's DDR3 capable and more modernly equipped.

I have a D830. I had to buy a new laptop for precisely that reason -- while it runs software great, it runs out of RAM, and starts swapping to the SSD very badly.

See what's in my tagline? I paid less than $400 for that, with 3 year CompleteCare and Dell's "talk to Americans who speak English" service. So your old laptop, minus the SSD, can't be worth much.
