Is M4600 upgradable to K2000M/K2100M?

I bought a used M4600 with Q1000M, and wonder if M4600 is upgradable to K2000M/K2100M? Or only can upgrade to Q2000M?

 

No one that I know of, has attempted to upgrade to the new K2100M from a M4600 or M4700, though they use the same slot type, not sure if the coolers are slightly* modified from the 3 generations. You would be the first case to have attempted if you do attempt it. Perhaps some online vendor may have a return policy with a restocking fee, I don't know. As always, do so at your own risk.

 

Accoding to the datasheet, M4600 works well with Q2000M as a 55W card. I think the cooler is not the problem because K2100M is also a 55W card.

BIOS may be the only problem.

 

There is a driver on dells page already out for upgrading the M4600 and M6600 to the newer cards. I'm sure it will work fine. If you do it let me know if it works out.

 

I put k2100m in dell M4700, it is working. but the hdmi port, DVI 1(on docking station) and displayPort 1(on docking station) are not working. It detects monitor properly and alows to expand desktop on int, but shows no image as if the routing of signal is somehow wrong. I tried flashing diferent bioses to the GPU but no change. The standard output, displayport, DVI 2 and DisplayPort 2 on docking stations are working properly.
Otherwise it beats the former nvidia 1000m GPU aproximately 3 times.
