I was wondering, I've seen it posted before on here and other sources that the M3800 has better internal components than the XPS15 9530. What I mean is better quality silicon, more efficient assembly?

    Can anyone who knows confirm?

    Thanks!

The XPS and the M3800 are very very similar machines. From what I can tell, other than the after-sale support (professional-grade warranty services, up to 5 years proSupport) and the pro-grade Quadro GPU vs the mainstream GPU (with pretty similar performance numbers, though), they're almost identical.

Thing is, you can get the m3800 discounted or refurbished sometimes, while still getting that monster warranty, and maybe at lower prices, but I'd go for the cheapest you can get myself.

Hmmm... thanks for your help. I swear I read somewhere that the M3800 has better quality internal components than the M3800.

I've seen that claim made all over, but it's often disputed whether or not it's true. I would assume they're the same components (excluding the gpu).

I have heard that the M3800 doesn't have the NFC chip that the XPS has, but I don't know for sure - my housemate just got his M3800 a few days ago - I can ask him about it in a week or so (out of town right now).

Yeah that would be good.... It just seems the XPS15 has WAY more problems than the M3800. So it's hard to believe that the M3800 doesn't have better components.
