No, you have to place a new order.

Wow. Is that really how Dell operates? My father had cancelled an order from Alienware due to some credit card despute, but I asked Alienware to reinstate it after my dad sorted out his credit cards. They complied almost immediately and sent my machine into production once it checked out. If you can't reinstate an order, that would most definitely suck. I would definitely contact Dell. I'm sure they can do something about it.

I was in the same situation. Ordered, cancelled, ordered, it somehow canceled itself, after me waiting for some progress over the weekend. Now, too close to holiday, so I OK'd the cancellation. Got a WD for my current lappy and WOW, it is a greta speed boost. 320GB 7200 16mb Sweet!

OK I just thought of another question. Is it possible to call Dell sales and ask them to match the price on the order I canceled? The price and configuration have changed slightly since I placed my order. ;)

It depends on how hungry they are for business. They may have their monthly sales targets to achieve and the phone lines are likely to go quiet for a few days.

Tell them you cancelled because it was too expensive and see if they can come up with a better deal.

    Dell's order system sucks.

On the M6400 system that I have on order - we had it initially on order mid Nov, then decided that "yes, we would like complete care warranty" - Dell couldn't add that to an existing order (even though it hadn't begun production), so we had to cancel that order and start again.
