I've got an e6400 and the internet is PAINFULLY slow. This started a little while ago on any WiFi network I use. I changed the drivers and recently upgraded to 7 so I have no clue what it is. Downloading a driver from Dell was downloading at 3.7 kb/sec. It is insane. A computer right next to me is fine. Any advice?

Which browser? Try a different one and see if you get the same problem.

    Try this:

Go to the Device Manager (Control Panel --> Device Manager in Vista).
Find your wireless adapter under "Network Adapters" and double-click it.
    Go to the "Advanced" tab.
Find the property called "Emission Power" or something (mine is not English) and set it to maximum if it isn't already.
Also try disabling the 802.11n mode in the same Advanced tab as it is incompatible with some older wireless modems.

I disabled N but it was already on max. Problem is still persisting.

Well, it's a longshot, but try this also:

Go to Power Options from Control Panel.
Assuming you use the Balanced power plan, click "change plan settings" under it.
    Click "change advanced power settings".
Under "wireless adapter settings", change those settings around to see if the problem goes away.

uninstall the drivers, then restart your computer.
    Now re-install the Wireless drivers.

    1. Have you tried more than one driver version?

    2. Take the bottom off the E6400 and check that the antennae leads are plugged in correctly as shown in the service manual.

Would the antennas be relevant if I'm still getting full WiFi signal?
