I know a few people have installed Win7 on their Lattitudes and Precisions ...

I decided to try out a clean install but as I work through the driver installs I get stuck at the chipset drivers which refuse to install, saying "This operating system is not supported".

Did anyone find a way around this? Or is everyone else playing with Win7 doing so by upgrading Vista instead of clean installing it?

Do you really needs that driver? It runs just fine on mine E6500 w/o any additional drivers installed.

Yeah, it seemed to run fine for me too, but a lot of things weren't recognized (eg: built in bluetooth, a few other things). I don't really know what each driver is for but I do know my M4400 is mighty picky about having everything installed in the right order under Vista x64 so I want to do it as close as I can to what is recommended.

Bluetooth is not a part of the chipset, you need the bluetooth driver. Don't worry about the chipset driver.
