I've run into this situation with my home laptop. I've bought the oem cd 8.1 and also have the usb restore. When I try to install it via the oem media it asks for the key. I thought it was supposed to be read from the uefi bios. That's my first question, I've worked around this by running rweverything and manually extracting the key.

My 2nd question is that for some reason the company wants to go to windows 8.1. I can just see a host of problems and unhappy employees, has anyone converted a 100+ workstations to windows 8.1 and the easiest way to image them all?
