Installing webcam for M6400 - problems

    Hi guys,

    me again. :)


    I'm trying to get the webcam running but I really don't know how to do so.

    I installed the dell webcam manager. If I want to launch the webcam console I get the warning that I have to install the webcam driver first.
    Well, I tried to install the webcam driver (located at the M6400 driver section) but this installer only tells me that no webcam manager was found and aborts the installation. ???

    I also don't have any webcam manager cd that is mentioned at other posting about this topic. It wasn't delivered with the notebook.

    So, is there a way to get the cam running?

    You need the Webcam CD. For some reason Dell doesn't have the initial drivers on their website. After installing from the CD, you can update/install from the website and the app will then work.

    Christmas present for all: I've uploaded the contents of the elusive driver CD for my E series webcam here. I presume it is the same driver for the new Precisions.

    Didn't John Ratsey post a download link for the drivers? Maybe that was a different item a couple days ago. If not, can get a download link? I'm sure there will be many more requests.

    EDIT: Nevermind, look above and it's there. :)
