The tech came by and switched out my motherboard. Like the title says, it's my third one in this machine. I loaded up Mass Effect to stress the graphics card, and it downclocked after about 15 minutes at @ 105C. I dont remember temps getting this high before, but it's been more than three weeks since I've used the machine (apparently dell didn't have replacement rgbled displays up here in canada). Pretty amazing. Are these temps normal, or did the tech not properly attach the heatsink?

The fan's definitely working; any recommendations on what to do? Call up tech again and tell them my new temps are too high or should I try to reset the heatsink myself?

    What OS, what Bios Rev?

I recommend XP pro 32 and A09 bios; no mess with that configuration here

yer well, that BIOS has issues with thinking that the GPU is overheating when it gets warm. Update to the latest and deal with the CPU slowing down. Its not *too* bad in A12.

I do wish I could get both running well, though.

    FWIW I've got a E6500.
