    Hi. everyone.

I bought M6600 through the dell outlet.
However due to the flickering screen almost flashing like a police car...:(

Yesterday I got replacement new machine and spent whole day instill programs...
I just found out new one's GPU is fairly slower than previous one.
I mostly using AutoDesk programs and 3D rendering program after that.
New machine couldn't open file on AutoDesk Showcase app.

And test it using another 3D program.. Previous one takes 15 min to get finish one rendering. In the mean time, new one stuck in the middle of one third.

I called tech support they changed setting in nvidia Control Panel.
but nothing changed.. and they suggest me disable Optimus and reinstall whole GPU driver.

But I dont think that going to resolve problem.
I am very frustrated now. I spent last weekend for flickering issue.
Now spend another weekend for fix GPU problem. It is getting worth...cuz perfomance.

If one of you have had same problem please leave some comments.
Thanks for looking my thread and have a good weekend.

Ps.. I dont want to see technician again. Last time guy came down to my place for change whole GPU due to flickering screen.. He scratched all over the back and missed three screws and etc.
How was your experiences with dell technician??

Disabling optimus is a good test, but not a solution. It's possible your laptop isn't switching over to the Quadro when using your 3D app. You can force this from within the Nvidia drivers. Maybe someone with an Nvidia card will chime in with the exact procedure.

    Hey,
Right click your desktop, and go to the Nvidia Control Panel. Go to Manage 3D settings on the Left, and click the tab that says "Program Settings" on the right. Here you can force applications to use the card.

In my tests at work ATI cards seem to perform better in CAD applications then nvidia nowadays. Seems they have the edge over nvidia in that department and it seems that only parallel processing and optimus technologies are what nvidia have to offer.
