All - I have a Dell M6500 which works fine and recognizes 2 Samsung 1TB SSD in RAID0. I recently purchased 2 Samsung 4TB SSDs but the Intel Matrox Rom utility that is used when you initially turn on the computer shortly after BIOS loads by pressing control "I" if I recall only displays 1.6TB of each of the 4TB SSDs instead of their full size. I did a few searches on the Internet Revealing one would need to upgrade the older Intel Matrox ROM to the newer Intel RST. In the past, I use the Intel RST but only once the OS is installed downloading from Intel site ; however, this install of Intel RST via the OS does not upgrade the Intel Matrox ROM as it remains Intel Matrox ROM v8.9.5.1007 PCH-M when BIOS loads. Based on some reading it seems this may only be upgraded via a BIOS upgrade where during the upgrade the ROM is upgraded. I'm on the latest BIOS for M6500 so a bit stuck here at this point. Does anyone know how to upgrade the ROM version to RST or a workaround to allow the M6500 to recognize a 4TB SSD in RAID mode. I'm thinking this may not be limited to M6500 as possibly other laptops may have been shipped with an older initial Matrox ROM so hopefully someone has overcome this. Thanks in advance.
