    Hi All,

Just got a Dell Latitude E4300 and liking it so far. I was wondering, how can I tell what manufacturer (Samsung, LG Philips, etc.) made the LCD inside my E4300? I have a co-worker who also has an E4300 and his LCD just looks "sharper" and mine looks quite "dull" color-wise. I did a quick search and I found 2 things:

    1) Go to Device Manager -> Monitor -> Default Monitor -> Properties -> Advanced -> HardwareID (in drop-down box) but both E4300's list "LCD2007"

    2) Install PC Wizard 2008, which I did, and when I go to the LCD section, it gives me "Manufacturer: MT291€133EV3". I've only heard of "SEC" (for Samsung) or "LPL___" (for LG Philips).

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

    Regards,
    Brian

I'm not sure you can check your screen manufacture with any software, but double check with EVEREST if you can. Dell renames all the parts with their own naming scheme and in your case the model number is "MT291". If you insist on finding out what the manufacture is, you could pop open the lcd bezel and see if you can find it on the screen itself.
