I would like to install a backlit keyboard into my e4300.
I removed all the visible screws but the case is still intact.
Are there screws behind the rubber pieces?
Has anyone successfully disassembled the e4300 before? I wasn't able to find any documentation or photos anywhere.

Try following the detailed instructions in Dell's E4300 service manual, particularly this.

However, the documentation is for the current version of the E4300 which has various covers on the base while the early E4300s had a one piece cover as on the E6400.

Thanks guys. Took me two seconds to pop the plastic bit off and swap the keyboards. It's been a while since I took apart a laptop, I guess I got rusty.

PS: The backlight keyboard is working great - well worth the $30
