    Hi MySaturdaySelf

Try going into the BIOS when you first switch on the computer. There should be a setting in there to enable or disable boot up fingerprint authentication.

If you want to edit the stored fingerprint, you need to use Dell's Embassy Wave Suite software, which is provided as part of the ControlPoint Security software (the actual fingerprint data is not stored on your hard-drive for security reasons, so you can't just delete a file and be done).

    Hi MySaturdaySelf

I don't know what kind of system you've got, but on my Precision M4400 there are definitely options in the BIOS to control the fingerprint reader. Try looking for associated words, like 'Security', 'Authentication', 'Trusted Platform Module' etc.

If you're still not sure, contact Dell's support team and they'll be able to guide you through step-by-step.
