I just did upgraded from XP to vista bus on my e6500. I only loaded the drivers that I needed and left out as much of the dell software as I could. One thing I am having trouble with is the backlit keyboard... Now the keyboard works, the leds turns on when I type, turns off when inactive for 10 secs and I can use the Fn+right arrow to manually turn it on or off...

My question is, with XP and the DCP software I could change options such as brightness and length duration for the backlite to stay on etc... I seem to have lost that ability. When I go to the keyboard settings its just the settings for a generic keyboard and does not have the led settings... What do I need to install in order to get this functionality back? Last thing I want to do it install all of the dell bloatware but I would like to change the setting of hardware.

    thanks

Not sure if I want to install the dcp... when I played around with it on XP, before I did the vista install, I found it to be very invasive in what it wants to control and really just complicated fairly easy tasks... I thing I will forgo the settings for the backlit keyboard if the alternative is letting dell software slow and complicate my system.

    thanks for your help.
