I have yet to install SP2 on my new E4300, though I'm downloading it now.

I was wondering, those with the Latitude E-series, does SP2 play nice with the factory intall? I've installed Office 2007, NIS 2009, and uninstalled Dell Connection Manager.

So I guess my question is, how was the install experience?

I have a M4400 running Vista 64 bit Business. I have no issues with the Vista SP2 install or day to day operations of the OS.
I noticed no changes at all. I have heard several other people say the same thing. This OS runs rock solid other then the occasional audio stuttering that has always existed on this machine.

This is good to see! I plan on installing SP2 tomorrow.

I also am running Vista Business x64. This is my first taste of 64bit, and I can confidently say I'd like to never go back to 32bit. I love my 4 gigs of RAM.

    Hi

On my Precision M6400 the installation of the Service Pack 2 (I download the ISO image from MS) runs without any Problems.

I had some problems with randomly BSODs by nearly every System bootup, (something with CI.dll). I tried a lot including a couple of complete new Installations from the scratch, without no solution. Since I running Vista 64 Ultimate SP2 i have no BSOD anymore.

Also it looks like the system is a little bit smoother and stabil now.

    regards
    Christopher

Installed it on the new Vostro 1720 and no issues whatsoever.

Put it on my M1330 a week later and had some REALLY slow boot times for about a day, then everything was peachy. Might have needed to defrag the boot files to get everything back in line, but works just peachy now.

Well, I've installed SP2 and everything seems to be working fine.

I think I'll run a defrag later today. My HDD seems to be doing a lot of reading on boot up.

Related to HDD thrashing, I have noticed that with SP2 the OS starts to write cache much more quickly than SP1 after you have booted. Takes about 10 seconds after complete boot and it starts to cache.
