My vostro 1400 caught the nvidia bug, and for now I have a dead dell sitting in my bedroom.
Any news on the extended warranty?
I'm not paying $400 to fix it! Does dell realize how many customers are probably in the same situation!?
Does anyone know any new information in regards to this? Is anyone else in the same situation as me?
If not, the Asus G50 is looking pretty **** good...

    (my warranty is expired)

Did it just die randomly? I also have a vostro 1400 and I've been worried about the nvidia situation.

Why can't you ask them to fix it under their promised 12-month warranty extension for all affected users?

What card is this BTW? Assuming the NVIDIA 8400 or the 8600?

Wow that sucks. So no warnings like messed up display or BSOD? nothing?
BTW. Do you remember if your GPU temps were idling at high temps like in the 60s?

And I don't think the 12 month limited enhancement warranty is in effect yet. But hopefully, it'll apply to all affected users since my warranty expired back in July.
