    Hello;

    i'm replacing a broken screen on an e6500. This model came with two different back cover designs, one for a single CCFL LCD screen and one for a dual CCFL LCD screen. I purchased a new screen and it happens to be a dual CCFL while my original is a single CCFL and now I'm wondering if I can purchase a new back cover and bezel(the old bezel was broke anyway) and just change out the whole upper assembly.

    My hope is that both are designed for the same laptop, then it should work, but maybe there are other aspects I am overlooking.

    If anyone can shed light on this situation I'd appreciate it. Thank-you.

    Go to eBay and search for "e6500 dual CCFL lid". You can find the bezel in the same way.

    exactly commander, I do have a few lids I can choose from, but my question is if this is all I have to do to get this working? My question is if replacing the lid with a dual CCFL lid and inverter will allow me to use the dual CCFL screen? Will I have other compatibility issues? Will the lid close properly? Do I need a full assembly with hinges or will the old hinges work? But mostly the biggest question is just if by replacing the lid will I then have other issues hardware wise I'd have to deal with.

    Ok, I see what you are saying.

    You will definitely have to replace the lid, as mentioned.

    Get a lid with hinges, as they might differ, though I doubt it.

    As I've said, I'm not sure about the bezel. Do note that there are webcam and non-webcam bezels, too.

    If your dual-CCFL screen didn't come with an inverter, you will need the dual-CCFL inverter, which has two plugs, one for each bulb.

    I think the display cable is the same as the regular CCFL display cable.

    Other than those, I don't think you will need to change anything; there aren't that many parts to the display assembly in the first place.

    Wonderful, thanks Commander Wolf, that's the same thing I was thinking but I wanted to double check myself now after this initial debacle. I found on E-bay and back cover that came with hinges, data cable and dual ccfl inverter, so I'm going to pick that up and since I need a front bezel anyway because the last one broke I'll just order one that says it's for a dual ccfl e6500 since I have seen ones that state that. I appreciate your help in this, thank-you.
