There's no comparisson between these two at all. The NVS 160M is much weaker than the FX 770M, it's something like 9300M vs 9600M if that helps you to understand the difference.

What are you going to use this notebook for?

I think the M4400 will be better suited for you since the FX 770M is way more powerful than the NVS 160M. The 770M is also certified for use with 3D applications such as AutoCAD and should be able to handle Crysis since the previous iteration, the FX 570M, runs Crysis too. I would suggest waiting for some reviews to come out before making the purchase.

I would suggest M4400 as it is better equipped for demanding applications and games. I'm in the middle of my choice - looking at Lenovo w500 and M4400. I had both Dell and Lenovo products in past and in my opinion, Lenovo notebooks have better workmanship quality. However Dell is loaded with all great features like LED screen, backlight keyboard and stronger GPU which are not available in Thinkpad W-series at the moment. But before pulling a trigger I would like to ask if anyone knows when Dell plans to offer DDR3-based RAM, if planning at all? And would It be possible to install a bluetooth module in Precision M4400 if I buy it separately (there is not bluetooth option so far)? I would appreciate any advice on that.

I ordered a W500 3 weeks go and it just got delayed another 2 weeks. I'm seriously considering canceling the order and switching to the M4400. Have there been any industry reviews posted on the M4400 yet? I haven't seen any...

the Quadro FX support both 2D and 3D application.
The Quadro nvs perform best in 2D application.

That's said both are very fast in 2D and 3D applications compared to their gamming conterpart since their drivers are optimased.

GPU in M4400 would dominate the W500... if you are still delayed, I would cancel and go for the Precision.

Sounds like the M4400 is perfect for you, the GPU is made to handle all your professional work. As far as crysis goes, I'm not sure but I know you can switch your drivers to a GeForce one to allow better gaming and switch back when you're ready to get back into your design work.

I hope that's not being a deal-breaker for you. You're get little to none performance increase for the price of DD3 RAM. Ask yourself, "how will my computer be noticeably faster with DD3" and then make the decision.

    Good luck :D

DDR3 offers no noticeable benefits and has a much higher cost at the moment. Lenovo has gone down in quality (comparing T2x, T4x, T6x) and even in the review of the Tx00 series, they've lost the awesome keyboard, while in the Dell review, it seems to have better build quality. Bluetooth is easy enough to buy and install yourself, just find the manual.
