I got my replacement m6600 today...

I had win7 installed on an SSD on my old m6600, I should be able to swap it in the new one without issue, right?

When I boot the new system with just the SSD I get a blank flashing cursor. When I put the new HDD that dell sent, everything works fine.

    The ssd shows in bios.

HDD mode is set to AHCI

When I put the SSD back in the old system, it does the same thing...

EDIT: the SSD is a 2 day old OCZ agility 3 that was working 10min before I made the swap...

EDIT2: tried booting from a win7 disk, it doesn't detect an OS....

Just because it's an OCZ, I wouldn't be surprised if the drive died.

Can you detect the drive in BIOS? Detect the drive in Windows installer? Read and write from the drive from a different machine?

Drive is detected in bios, and windows... I didn't test to see if I could read/write to it.

bootrec finds a windows instal on the drive....

Startup repair says that "the partition table does not have a valid system partition"

    Ok... got it...

    The c:\boot folder was corrupted/gone:eek:

EasyBCD fixed it after a little bit of pixy dust, magic, and a large hammer.

    Does OCZ do advance replacements?

I sent 2 OCZ drives back so far, they required me to send them the drive, and they promtly returned a new one to me upon reciept.

Lastest exchange looks like they gave me a 240 GB Agilty3 for my vertex 2

    New issue...

When I add a 2nd HDD to the system, I get the same issue, when I take it out, everything works fine.(HDD is a toshiba 250gb...)

When my 256gb drives gets here this POS OCZ drive will be RMAed then sold:mad:

You may want to double check your boot sequence when the second drive is installed.

The 2nd drive has nothing on it... It shouldn't matter.

Ether way, even when I remove the hdd from the boot list, it still gives a flashing cursor.

It most definitely does matter. It REALLY sounds like you have the wrong drive enabled in your boot sequence. Try removing the one you think is correct and adding the other. If it's like mine it doesn't give you the make/model of the drive, just a placeholder. It is very easy to select the wrong drive.

Edit: Another test would be to hit the key that lets you select the boot device at the POST screen. I don't recall what it is, some function key. The list should itemize all your bootable devices. Select your SSD and see if it boots. If it does it is most definitely a boot sequence issue.
