HELP monitor of dell latitude d600

    hi guys,,i got a dell d600 laptop...
    before reinstalling my os ..by accident i press a botton around the botton power..
    and the picture got smaller...with black bars around....
    -after finishing reinstalling..i set to 1024x768 ..this increase the picture a little
    ..so how can i fix this problem please..get the picture back to normal size...let me know please

    Hmm. Can you provide a picture of this 'button' you pressed? This does not sound like a operating system problem. It sounds like a hardware problem.

    no,,i can't post the picture,,but is the either the one by the volume next to the right side..or the one on top of volume buttons.the one that looks like a nail
    ..i was pressing F8-CRT/LCD..but it does nothing

    i was advice this:
    You need to install the chipset driver, Dell notebooks system software, and then the video driver.

    ...then i reply this,,,
    thanks it just did it..it brought my screen size...but

    when i check in system properties screen size is at 1400x1050 .at this setting..i see icon text,,windows too small.........i tried to go back to 1024x768 and it goes back to where it was...

    HOW... can i enlarge icons,fonts,windows at this new setting,,it looks too small for me..

    Keep the display set to 1400 x 1050 since it will be blurred at a lower resolution.

    Then right click on the desktop and select properties, then click on the appearance tab and try setting the Font size to large. Also, if you click on the Effects button, you can select large icons.

    ok i found the solution,,,is in bios.

    page 4,scroll down to bottom...and enable video expansion.....

    somehow pressing those keys disable it..
