    hi everybody. i come from vietnam,sorry about my english is not well
    i'm using dell vostro 1400 with nvidia gefore 8400m gs( 128mb DDR3),i have problem with my laptop,when i open it,some times only show a dark screen,some times it run,but now only a dark screen. I sent it to repair,and they say that my video ram is damaged,so they tell me buy a new desktop graphic card with DDR3 (OR DDR2) to replace my Laptop video memory. IS IT POSSIBLE??? can i use desktop graphic card's video memory to replace for laptop graphic card's video memory?? please tell me how to do,in my country don't have dell service

    You cannot replace a laptop video card with a desktop one(look at the size). If your laptop still has a valid warranty, contact a different tech support agent and try again.

    Don't bother posting if you are just going to insult someone. How long have you had the vostro 1400? Is it still under the warrenty?

    my laptop is not still under warranry. I live in HO CHI MINH CITY,my country don't have dell service. Thaks mod and every body

    it doesn't look like it's possible without replacing the entire motherboard.

    at this point, you'd be better off with something new

    hey. where can i buy a new mainboard for dell vostro 1400 in the US? please send to me the link.
    when i open the case of laptop,i can see the core chip nvidia,and two video memory chips near it,all of its are soldered in mainboard,so i think i can replace video memory without the core chip nvidia
