I just purchased an E-6500 and am considering buying a port replicator that i can use to hook up my external hard drive, monitor, keyboard, mouse, and printer. I am looking for the cheapest replicator that takes up the least amount of space since space is limited right now. I have a few questions:

    1) I can't figure out from Dell's website which port replicator meets my needs. Can anyone point me to the right model that is the best bang for my buck, meeting basic needs mentioned above (a generic option is fine too--doesn't have to be Dell as long as it works)

    2) how would a 4:3 monitor display the picture of a 16:10 laptop?

    3) How does the computer attach to the port replicator? By USB or by a dedicated docking port? Which is better?

    Thanks a ton! I'm totally confused. :)

Thanks for that info. Never heard of that company. what is their reputation? Is it all refurbished parts? Can you explain the power supply thing? Where does one buy a power supply for a port replicator and how much are they?

Also, if you can go one level higher and help me answer the questions above, it will allow me to do some searching as well.

    Thanks again!

dcmove I only dealt with the company once but it was good. quick shipping all around good experience. As to if it is new or refurbished parts. I couldn't tell. The dock was wrapped in the protective wrap that dell uses and the power adapter was still sealed in plastic bags. What I mean with the power supplies is for CSHawkeye81 link it says

Unit requires a Laptop Power Adapter PA- 4e.

To purchase a PA-4e, click here.

but for my link it didn't say that and I received a power adapter with my order.
