    Hello guys,

I am making this post because I've been searching for information about what hard drives are compatible with my Vostro 1500 and haven't found any concrete answer. I contact Dell support and they said it could handle a 320gb 5400rpm max; is this true?

I will like to upgrade my hard drive to the 320gb 7200 rpm or 500gb 5400rpm; but I really don't know if the Vostro 1500 will support this drives. I'll like to have max storage and speed possible.

Please, I will like supported information about this and what hard drives I could buy.

Thanks a lot for everything and for your time.

As long as you get a SATAI or SATAII drive, the Vostro 1500 will support it. The biggest notebook SATA drive you can currently get is a hard-to-find 5400RPM, 640GB unit, but 500GB drives have been around for a while and are probably a better value.
