This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

Got this in the outlet... thoughts?

    Yes, try to get the optical drive + release replaced with a new one. Dell should be able to send you the part and you send back the old one.

    I can't think of how / why the original one broke. Perhaps not properly assembled or the release not pushed in before the computer was boxed.
