A fellow member here sold his Latitude D830 for $650. The buyer was me. It came with a dock, has a T7400, 2 GB ram, 100gb 7200 hard drive, wuxga screen 1920x1200.

It was too good of a deal to pass up. This computer will hold me over for a year until I buy a new Asus G50 next summer.

I'm hoping the build quality is as good as they say it is, considering it is a business line.

Anything I need to be aware of?? Any known problems?

Its a darn good computer, my financee's D820 has NEVER had a problem.

And all the time she happily computed, I had quite a few issues with other notebooks :p.

Congrats, its a great notebook. I know a external it guy and he suggests this computer as a primary laptop to all of his business travelers, enough assurance for me at least. :)

Yes, it's possible to upgrade the CPU, but the T7400 is pretty good already, so I wouldn't recommend it.

You won't be able to upgrade to one of the newer ones though. You'll only be able to upgrade to other Napa-chipset compatible CPUs. So... T7600 or T7800, but that's it. Probably not worth it... the T7400 shouldn't be bad at all. If you're looking for an upgrade... maybe either a bigger hard drive or an SSD, depending on your needs.

I have a D430 and a D630 and they're both great machines. I hope you enjoy your Latitude!
