    Hello everyone,

I'm new here, have some serious thought about replacing My XPS1330 with E6400. The problem i consider much is the GPU card. I do have the G8400 and would like to know how will be the NVS160 against what i have now.... At the moment i do run the COD4 on the net and goes pretty good, not as my PS3 but still runs nicely.

PlS, I would like to hear your advise.

    Thanks

I wouldn't consider the NVS 160M then. It's based off of the 9300M GS card, which is roughly equivalent to the 8400M GS/GT card.

So the big Q is whether its worth replacing my XPS1330 with the E6400?

Considering the video card performance hasn't changed, I would say no.

The consensus is that the NVS160 has about the same performance as the 8400M GS. Are you wanting something better or just wanting avoid something worse?

The E6400 can offer more screen real estate and more solid (and heavier) build quality.

    OK, I need help!

I just don't know to decide about getting E6400 instead of my XPS1330.

The XPS spec. [email protected] HDD 160GB@7200 RPM WLED screen 4GB Ram GPU Nvidia GForce8400 128MB 9cell Batt, blutooth, wireless G, fingerprint ID .
    Bought on April 2008.
I use it for work and like playing COD4.

Con. issues are Battery time and wrist panel temp.

On the other hand I have an opportunity to buy new E6400
    Spec. P8600, NVS160 256MB WLED screen 4GB RAM 250 GB HDD @ 7200RPM 6 cell Batt. No fingerprint ID, Bluetooth & Wireless.

I have seen it, looks more durable then my XPS. Nicer keyboard tuch, more runtime. Not sure, but thought the screen on the XPS is sharper?!

Regarding the wight is approx the same... Also it suppose to work faster then the XPS.

I'm worried that the adding few hundreds won't be of value for money while on the other hand I have understood the new platform of the E6400 is more advanced.

Add to that that at the moment i can sell the XPS and get 3/4 of its value (at least where i live).

    Can you help?

Why do you need a new laptop? What are you going to use it for?

I wouldn't think of it unless my brother would need to buy a new one... so he thought, in his budget, to get a Vestro1310, thus how i revealed to the E6400. So instead of taking 1310 I'll sell him the XPS (He wants it) and buy a new one....
