Could just be a certain batch. Wonder if we could narrow it down more.

I can see most of you are facing this problem with SSD drives and firmware update. I did update firmware update but problem remain persistent. Only difference I see here is I do not have SSD but I am raid system with two hard drive of 750 GB each and Raid redundant (mirror). I had quite back forth with Dell technical support. As per their suggestion I updated firmware, I did bios hardware diagnosis, but did not find any problem. Firmware update also has not solved problem. They suggested me to reinstall of windows now, but I suspect again guess work this may again not solve problem. I am also not ready to reinstall every thing again. I purchased this with all possible available configuration so I should not be in any problem, but it become nightmare for me. System was originally supplied with defective touch screen panel. After quite a back and forth they ready & replaced screen.

Now I am seeing this problem and still I am communicating but they have not provided me any solution yet. I purchased laptop with 5 years full cover warranty.

There is another problem I can not submit email support request, it always shows product out warranty, I reported to dell this couple of times, still they have not provided me any solution.

It is quite frustrating after buy a high end laptop.

I will think again if in future I need to buy any dell product.

I will really appreciate any suggestion and help on these matter.

Freeze of system all of sudden while working is a big issue for serious user. I have been suggested by one of tech support at dell I should not put my laptop in sleep mode for more then 4-5 hours, laptop is not designed for this. It seems to me quite wrong. I have been previously using Dell M4300 for last 4-5 years keeping it in sleep mode for days also.

Still looking for solution but I have not expected this from Dell.

Unfortunately I must agree that Dell often fails miserably when supporting these high end machines and their sleep mode for more than 4-5 hours is obviously a load of bs. I bought two m6600's and one has been replaced once & the other twice after Dell was unable to resolve a variety of issues. In Dells defense, I will say that each time a machine was replaced it was with a new machine, not a refurb, and Dell support offered the replacement without my prompting so at least they made a good effort to make things right.

I looked through the thread & didn't see any details of the error you are receiving. Here are a few things I found helpful.

Install a copy of BlueScreen View Blue screen of death (STOP error) information in dump files.

If you find any errors post them.

I was chasing a 9f error that would pop up every couple of weeks, tried different memory even though memtest & other tools showed no issue. I thought it might be my SSD but turned out that wasn't it. As I mention in this post on page 2 of this thread http://forum.notebookreview.com/del...ustrating-problem-my-m6600-2.html#post8337336 I thought I finally worked it out with the new chipset drivers but after 3 weeks without issue the error came back. I learned the basics of using WinDebug and that always pointed me back to the nvidia driver.

What (knock on wood again) has kept me blue screen free since July 1st (including a 26 days stretch without a reboot) was a tool called PowerMizerManager which disables the power mizer (down clocking) features of the nvidia graphics card. For me the power mizer feature was never that much of a benefit with Optimus being an option.

Last I looked the developers site was offline but some folks have been kind enough to post a download http://forum.notebookreview.com/gateway-emachines/667876-powermizer-manager.html.

The changes made are only to the registry and an uninstall / reinstall of the nvidia drivers will put everything back to the default.

Now you may not even have an nvidia card for all I know but if you post some more details there are lot's of helpful people on these forums who might be able to help you find a solution to your specific issue.

I have had the freeze issue from time to time. It hadn't happened for a while but then did today. I can still use my mouse and click but cannot use the keyboard to type etc. When it happens I just close all programmes with the mouse and restart and it goes away, only to reoccur at an undetermined time in the future.

I know I have not been any help to you but just wanted the OP to know s/he is not alone.

I've got a C300 and use to have freezing problems, the cause is the Intel LPM Check out:

Solution: C300 Disk Freeze-ups in Windows 7 solved... - Crucial Community

I've tried the registry trick but still had freezes, I then resorted to reformat without installing the Intel AHCI drivers, the Microsoft AHCI is more then capable. This is to ensure that Intel doesn't stall the SSD...
