    its not even using palmOS anymore, its called WebOS

    from what ppl can tell, it dosent have a desktop software on a pc

    That's disappointing. I knew about the new OS, but I had assumed it had some compatability (as compatability between Palm devices has always been one of Palm's main championed points, especially compared to PocketPC devices) and functioned similarly.

    i think this is going somewhat off topic for this forum now, but i used to be a developer for palmOS when i was 14. that was the first business i started.

    sigh...nostalgia.....an era comes to an end...

    if you want palmOS legacy compatibility you need to look for access' ALP platform, but i dont think any devices have ever run it since it was launched 2-3 years ago.

    its pretty much a nearly extinct platform. its a good thing palm is starting fresh.

    my final palmOS device was the sony clie NX70....then i jumped ship to the HTC universal...the first 3g VGA windows mobile device

    although i've always been somewhat platform agnostic, that was the first time i abandoned palmOS completely

    I've always liked Palm devices. I have a Palm Vx and a Tungsten T3.

    Though I haven't actually used either in years.
