Hello I own a dell latitude d600 with windows xp and I have just bought a new dell xps laptop with vista. I wanted to format the latitude and install vista using the reinstallation disk that came with my xps. Will this work, can I use the serial from my new computer? I don't know too much about computers, also how would i format?

Legally you cannot since you only have rights to ONE Vista install on the laptop you just bought and CANNOT be transferred.
