One of the screws at the back of my Vostro 1400 always gets loose after a couple days use, even after tightening, making the lid a bit loose when it's open. It's probably a problem with the hinge threading rather than the screw (though I haven't tried swapping the hinge screws to confirm this).

I thought of putting a very small amount of cyanoacrylate glue (super strong "crazy" glue) onto the threading of the screw before tightening it yet again to make it stay in place. Do you think this would work? But more importantly, could I damage anything?

Super glue is a bit permanent. There is stuff called "Loctite" which is made for this use. It looks a lot like nail varnish, so if you have access to that then it's worth a try. I usually use correction fluid.

You can find Loctite at Radio Shack. :)
