    Hi,

So I bought a new 9 cell battery for my vostro 1500. I'm charging it for the first time. Its been more than 12 hours that laptop is off and ac power is plugged in and the battery seems to be charging, and the blue battery light on the laptop is blinking after every ~7 seconds. Its not stopping. If I turn the laptop on with ac power (vista) it says that the battery is 100% charged, but still the blue battery light blinks after every ~7 seconds. Anyone can tell me whats up with it ? Thanks.

I can't explain what is happening. I would discharge it down below 50% and then recharge it again. Is it a genuine Dell battery?

Also, you can check the charge rate and charge status by using the battery info page of RMClock. My E6400's battery thinks it gets charge to 106% of capacity, but it does stop charging.

its not a genuin dell battery for sure, I got it for less than half of the price that is listed on dell.com!!!!

even after 24 hours, the blinking is the same. When i plugged it for the first time it was saying 46%.

run RMclock and see what it shows as the battery ID at the bottom of the list of battery info.

You can also see what the charge status is.

No Vista says its "Fully Charged (100%)", its just that the laptop's blue battery indicator light blinks to blue every 7 seconds.

I will check after draining and recharging it.
