I am looking at a M4800 on Ebay but I don't know much about them, it has Win 7 and looks brand new, the seller says it's been refurbished by FedEX Supply Chain, I thought FedEx just delivered packages!
Is a M4800 a good machine or is there a better choice in a 15" workstation for around $600?

No way, that is overpriced by $100-300 depending on its configuration. It's a machine that is over 5 years old.
