dell is pissing me off. i had my vostro 1400 for the last year, during which i experienced 3 problems:
    - i had a really loud cpu fan that kept making clicking noises
    - i have headphone noise (which many seem to have)
    - and my wireless switch would not work from time to time

i was using my laptop during the school year so i couldnt send it in till the summer. I was out of the country for several months and returned in august. I sent it in and asked them to look into those 3 issues.

only the cpu fan was replaced. i still have headphone noise and i dont know if my wireless switch was fixed (it didnt say anything about it on the repair sheet that was given to me when my laptop returned). but what i do know is that my wireless switch just broke. all it does is slide back and forth and doesnt turn on my wireless!
it's the school year and there is absolutely no way i can send this in until december. after spending over an hour on the phone with 4 different people, being told different things about if they can send me a replacement part and so on, i was given the following options:
    1. send it in for repairs (which i do not want to do)
    2. purchase a usb wireless adapter from them for $50.

i tried fn+f2 and it will not turn it on. device manager says its working fine. i updated the drivers and still fn+f2 does not work.

Is there any other way to turn on my wireless?
