    How hard is it to install more memory on the E6500?

    How hard is it to remove one screw from the cover on the bottom and slide the cover off? (Remembering to turn off the computer and remove the power first). It's not much more challenging than topping up the windscreen washer water in a vehicle.

    For more details, have a read through the E6500 Service Manual which you can find on the Dell website.

    However, there are only two memory slots. If you order a computer with two memory modules you will need to remove one or both in order to insert higher capacity modules.

    You can buy your RAM from anyone who sells something suitable. See quick reference guide page 24:

    Which means DDR 2 PC6400 (800MHz) or PC5300 (667MHz) 200 pin SODIMM such as these modules.
