I got my new E6500 yesterday. My initial impressions are only 'OK'. Some things I like about it and some things I am not impressed with (some of which I will create another thread for).

However the biggest annoyance at the moment is that my mouse is skipping and freezing badly when just moving across the screen. It is really noticeable when using the Trackpoint nib which I like a lot.

Wondering if anyone else is having an issue like this or noticed this?

Device manager just says it is an ALPS input device (which seems to be the touchpad, trackpoint, and keyboard?). Didn't see any updated drivers except for BIOS on Dell site. Updated BIOS. Didn't notice any differences. I also don't notice anything else freezing or skipping (doesn't seem to be related to processor/HD usage).

I did as well, but i fiddled with the sensitivity (lowered it a bit) and it went away.
