There's no comment about if it's a Samsung, LG or AUO Display!

The E6500 and the M4400 will have them... but the MacBook Screens are not only from AUO. Apple uses AUO, CMO, LG, Samsungs Screens!
You can see the Hardware ID in the device manager --> monitor properties --> Details --> Hardware Details.

So what is the verdict on the AUO screen? Is it every bit as good as the LG screens?

I have the AUO screen. It's actually quite nice, although a little "cool" color-wise.

I have the AUO screen too. I thought it was supposed to be the best of the 3, equal to what MACbooks use.

Ok, i can tell, that LG display was is in my case better...But i had 2 LG displays - each different revision and one was good, one not as good as AU.. Dell changed me 3x LCD because of bad subpixel (or stuck pixel - little blue or red dot).. So i can tell you one - it doesn´t matter, what LCD manufacturer do you have... Each revision is different... AUO i had was bad because of viewing angles - it was horrible and I notice different colors even if I was looking straight at it...

I received a AUO4047 WXGA+ screen for the E6400 from the Outlet Store. It is not an Anti-Glare screen, but is glossy. How about yours? Does not being Anti-Glare automatically qualify a screen as TrueLife?

No, my LCD´s were all matte... I haven´t seen glossy LCD in E6500 yet.. I think, they will be the same as in MacBooks...Glossy LCD has better colors, but i like the matte one..

I have the AUO screen. It's perfectly fine. It is a bit 'cooler' but in my opinion, it is safely within the awesome range. All the key features are there: contrast ratio, color accuracy, viewing angles, brightness, uniformity, etc....every bit as good as the macbook pro.
