    When did you get your E6500?

    Are they manufactured in different locations as there appears to be people reporting both flex & no flex? Should I ask for a new keyboard or exchange?

    Still no official reply from Dell yet..?

    I got my E6500 in the end of June. I ordered keyboard with Estonian layout, but I also received the English version(it was originally installed, I had to replace it with the Estonian one myself) and the keyboard with English layout seemed to have no flex also..

    And before I bought my laptop, I read from this forum, that the keyboard without backlight has some flex and keyboard with backlight has NO flex. And I still believe it's true (I've had only positive emotions with the ones with backlight).

    I'd like to get a professional reply from Dell on this issue, looks like I'll have to call & demand this (still no email reply to ProSupport) as there's also another issue we're having others have reported with (a new A02) 2408wfp Monitor that won't wake up - Displayport:
    http://en.community.dell.com/forums/t/19270818.aspx

    If I can't get a reply from Dell, I'll return it but hopefully we can get this all resolved asap..

    Any other advice on how to get a professional reply-resolution would be most welcome. -Thanks

    From my experience Dell replies much faster over the phone than my email.

    I really appreciate the replies, Dell seems open to trying a replacement keyboard (after I pointed out that many people online say their E6500 backlit keyboard has zero flex & I'm still in the return window), any reason not to let them try?

    Hopefully we'll get the monitor issue sorted out tomorrow as well, -Thanks again

    Dell is willing to replace the backlit keyboard at no cost (but isn't promising it won't also have some flex like some have reported here), they said it is easy to do, user replaceable but as this is a fully supported business purchase will send out a NBD onsite tech.

    Are we wasting our time-risking anything or should we let them try (as some people here are reporting no-mixed flex)?

    {Personally I've never experienced such flex particularly on any business class notebook...}

    I would let them try. Who knows, it might just solve your problem and it costs nothing.
