Looks like my E6500 with Nvidia NVS 160M does NOT have the power to keep the resolution of 1920x1200 on the Dell 2408 WFPb flatscreen monitor.

I reported this to dell this morning.

As I mentioned in my other thred I did not get the displayport to work either.

No no no... NVS 120 can handle 1920x1200 without any problems... Check and update your drivers. Check your option panel... there must be something wrong with your sofware..

Even the Intel x4500 can do 1920x1200.

Old thread, but my E6400 is driving not one, but TWO 2408s. At first it would only do it with DVI, but upgrading to the A05 BIOS from the A01 allowed me to use DisplayPort instead. I have the 160M.

    Well problem solved.
After 2 motherboard changes on my BRAND NEW E6500 the last thing they wanted to do is to change the external screen (Dell 2408), they did.
    AND GUESS WHAT EVERYTHING WORKS!!!!!

It was the external screen all the time.

And guys! this e6500 is FANTASTIC!!!! what a machine
