    Hi,

I've recently upgraded from E5410 (i5) to E6440 (i7 + 89702GB graphics card) with windows 8.1. However, to my (utter unpleasant) surprise, videos play slightly better on my previous laptop. I checked the settings and found that in Catalyst configuration vlc player, windows media player etc. appear locked with power savings option. Is this the reason for bad video playback?

My IT team person mentioned that it is obvious that this laptop will play lesser clear movies that are 720p or below (but I couldn't digest it). Any thoughts/experience by any other e6440 owner? Please share if there is a resolution to this? It really saddens to upgrade to find that movies play no better but worse.
