    Hi folks,
I've just upgraded from an HP 6930p to a Dell E6430 and have been wondering about the Dell PRX02 docking station that seemingly requires me to keep the laptop's battery inserted to prevent the laptop from moving around on the docking (i.e. when I press the power button on the laptop, it bends to the side). Is this only on my machine, or is it a design issue? When I remove the battery (what I usually do as the laptop remains on the docking station most of the time), the laptop is unstable. Even when I push out the place holder for the 9cell battery (pulled back for the pic), there is no improvement.

The initial idea was to have an empty battery case that could be inserted instead, but of course no such thing exists. And the E-Port II seems to have the same design as my PRX02 (except for the USB 3.0 support?). Any advice? Thx!

That's normal, there are springs in the docking station. Do you use external peripherals? I would just recommend using the power button on the docking station.

Yes, I am using external peripherals (22" TFT + mouse/keyboard). The problem is that the springs are useless as long as no battery is inserted. I usually remove the battery from my laptop when it resides on the docking station most of the time.

If you don't touch the laptop, I wouldn't worry if it wobbles.
