So do you have a Samsung or an AUO Screen?

Do these ship with any other screens?

FYI, there were some comments earlier in this thread mentioning that the hard drive that's built into this modular bay is actually a bit thinner. I believe the suggestion was that conventional 2.5" drives might be a few mm too tall to fit.

I'm still waiting on 3rd party products from companies such as NewModeUS. Nothing yet and they didn't reply to my inquiry regarding when an E6420 caddy would be available.

EDIT: On a whim, I thought I'd check for the E6520, and it looks like the media bay caddy will be available at the end of the month. Assuming that the E6420 and E6520 are similarly built, I imagine this would apply to our machines too!

Cool. I also heard back from them today confirming that the media bay caddy would work for both models, as suspected.

So I just got an E6420 from the Dell Outlet. Love it, but there is one problem. Evidently it has no wireless card. I didn't know they even made laptops without wireless cards anymore, but here I am.

I believe that the port for installing it is just under the bottom cover, correct?

What I primarily need to know is which wireless cards (under $30 if possible) will fit, and which might be my best choice among them. A few pointers on how to go about installing the card also would not be amiss.

    Hope you guys can help.

First, I would be absolutely stunned if your system was meant to not come with a WLAN card pre-installed. I would double check that in your system configuration on the Dell website. Even if the card was indeed not to be included, I would consider returning and buying a system with a card, unless you got a super deal.

However, here's how you'd install a card if you'd like.

Step one: go here and buy this. There are other options but this ought to work just fine.

Step two: go here and click on Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN). Then follow the instructions! It's really very easy. Once you have the bottom cover off you'll see how it's supposed to go, I think.

Let me know how else I may help!
