Hi, I recently discovered the IMO rather serious problem, that under Windows 8 if one reduces the display's brightness to zero (which blackens the screen), it prevents the screen from brighten up again. The only workaround is to eithr connect an external monitor, which resets the brightness value, or to close the laptop's lit and then wake up from standby.

I have this issue with the original Windows 8 display driver (Intel HD 3000), the Dell display driver, and the newest Intel driver.

Is there a solution to this?

    Thanks!
