E6410 Warranty Problems

Hi all, I bought a Dell Latitude E6410 with Dell Pro Support until 2014. When I received the laptop, it would not charge. When plugged in with two different AC adapters with two different Dell OEM batteries, it just says "Plugged in not charging". Instead of filing a claim with Paypal (I can still do this within 2 weeks), I have been trying to go through Dell to fix the issue. However, the person I bought it from cannot transfer the warranty because he doesn't know the company information as he bought it from someone on Craigslist. There's really no chance of him contacting this person so at the moment, I can't receive service.

Any ideas?

 

Check the BIOS and see if battery charging is enabled. Also, check to see if the AC adapter is being identified by the system. If it's not identifying, it's possible that the DC jack is broken, which is an easy fix.

As Robin24k mentioned, please check the BIOS and confirm the details. You may set the BIOS to the defaults, and try to update the BIOS to latest version available.
